After her divorce, Tamsen was over $100,000 in debt. She felt ashamed, terrified, and completely alone and she’s not the only one.
On The Tamsen Show, personal finance expert Farnoosh Torabi explained why so many women end up financially vulnerable after a major life event and what to do about it.
Her advice is simple, powerful, and rooted in reality:
- Have your own accounts. Credit cards, checking, savings.
- Start building credit. Even if you're not working yet, start small and consistent.
- Automate a savings habit. Even $20 per paycheck creates momentum.
- Don’t be afraid to invest. You don’t need to “trade,” you need a long-term plan.
And if you’re feeling behind? You’re not. “It’s not too late. Whether you’re 42 or 52 or 62, the money you start investing today still counts,” Farnoosh emphasized.
The real key is this: Rebuilding starts when you believe you're worth protecting.
