I’m going to be honest… I think I might need to slow down a little.
This week I sprayed my hair with makeup setting spray instead of hairspray (don’t recommend), spent an entire day wearing my shirt inside out, and showed up to a doctor’s appointment on the wrong day.
Which honestly should have been my first sign that something was off, but the appointment I *did* make it to this week actually lit a fire under me.
I went to see my endocrinologist and found out I’ve lost two more pounds of muscle. Two!
You know that feeling where the second you get one thing under control, something else taps you on the shoulder like, “Hi, we’re not done yet”? That’s how I felt.
I was honestly so annoyed at myself because I know exactly what works for my body and I haven’t been consistent with it lately.
So I’m resetting.
The plan right now sounds simple: get 100 grams of protein a day and to lift heavy 3 times a week.
But it always sounds so much easier on paper, doesn’t it?!
The protein part is the hardest for me because I don’t eat meat, and lately breakfast has been a struggle because I’m weirdly over eggs right now. So if you have any good high-protein breakfast ideas, please send them my way.
I’ve definitely been using travel as a little excuse lately. I’ve caught myself saying…
“Oh I’m traveling, I can have the fries.” Or “I have another flight tomorrow, I don’t need to workout.”
A few fries are definitely not the end of the world, but those little decisions start to add up. I’m doing my best to not beat myself up about it, but I am reminding myself of something I’ve learned over and over again: Consistency always works better than perfection.
I’ve been on the road a lot lately with The M Factor tour, so on the next stops I’m going to make it a priority to get my workouts in and fuel my body with what it needs.
The tour has been absolutely amazing, though. I’ve been meeting you ladies all over the country and having some really powerful conversations. Every time we do one of these events I walk away reminded of how many women are navigating this stage of life while juggling careers, families, aging parents, relationships… all of it.
Which makes me even more committed to showing up for my own health too. I started adding a ton of heathy-ish snacks to my Amazon cart to bring with me to the upcoming events to stay on track so I don’t end up grabbing whatever is around.
Anyway… that’s my reset for the week. More protein, more lifting, and maybe double-checking that my shirt isn’t inside out before I leave the house. 😅
If you’re working on something right now too, whether it’s your health, your habits, or your routines, I’m cheering you on.
